Scripture for Your Inner Outcasts

You are listening to Scripture for Your Inner Outcasts. Today is January 10th, 2026, the Saturday after Epiphany. Today we are joined by Bridget Adams, the member care coordinator for the Resilient Catholics Community, a lead writer and trainer on the PartsFinder Pro team and a retreat leader for Souls and Hearts.

"The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The best man who stands and listens for him rejoices greatly at the bridegroom's voice." Who rejoices greatly at your voice, you exiled parts? Do you know someone who might rejoice greatly at the sound of your voice? Or does it seem odd or impossible that your voice would be so welcome and celebrated? Your system has an innermost self, a self that longs to hear your voice, to know your pain, and to be with you in your exile. A self that has an innate ability to draw you into greater integration within your self system, with your protectors' permission. Like the best man who stands and listens for the groom's voice, the innermost self in your system is learning to be alert to your voice, you exiled parts, to be ready to hear you when you speak. This type of listening may be a new experience within your system, as your protector parts are also learning to trust that there is an innermost self, given great gifts and a God-given ability to meet the needs of each part of you, and to stand ready to receive the insights, memories, sensations, beliefs, hopes, and desires of each and every part. You exiled parts have a voice, and even if you're so young as to have been exiled before speech was mastered in your little body, the innermost self can still listen to you in a way that makes the most sense. With creativity and confidence, your inmost self can learn to hear you, so even you pre-verbal parts can someday be heard by your innermost self, with God's grace, and in a time that is agreeable to the protectors that exiled you within your self system, with their good intentions for your safety and security. May you exiled parts learn to express yourselves to the innermost self in a way that fosters a deeper relationship and a greater understanding of your needs and desires. May your protector parts gain more and more confidence in the innermost self and the abilities it has to stand, listen, and rejoice in understanding you, exiles.
