"Behold, now is a very acceptable time. Behold, now is the day of salvation."

Welcome back to Scripture for Your Inner Outcasts. It's February 28th, 2026, Saturday of the First Week of Lent. Today's guest is Lisa Barrett, a psychotherapist in private practice based in Sydney, Australia, and a member of Souls and Hearts' Resilient Catholics Community and the Formation for Formators Community.

This passage is from 2 Corinthians 6. "Behold, now is a very acceptable time. Behold, now is the day of salvation." Now is the time, this moment. You do not need to wait to be saved from your pain, your loneliness, your grief, your shame. The moment is now. God can release you from the unnecessary burdens you carry, that you have taken on or picked up. Salvation is present in this day. Perhaps you felt your day would never come. Nobody would ever see you, hear you, understand your struggle, your desire or your hopes. If you feel abandoned, now is an acceptable time to allow yourself to experience connection and inclusion. This is an invitation to say yes today. Yes to his grace and mercy that is waiting for you even though you feel lost, despair, hopelessness. His love and grace is waiting for you. It may have been hard to hear or see this possibility, this redemption that is so close at hand. Other parts of you may have blocked your sight or your hearing. If so, you can take solace in this passage. If you feel stuck, you can know that now is a very acceptable time. Now is the day of salvation.
