Speaker 1: The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me. He has sent me to bring glad tidings to the lowly, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners. To comfort all who mourn.

Speaker 2: You are listening to Scripture for your inner outcasts. Today is April 2nd, Holy Thursday. Today's guest is Lisa Barrett, a psychotherapist in private practice based in Sydney, Australia and a member of Souls and Hearts Resilient Catholics. Community and the formation for Formators community.

Speaker 1: The spirit of the Lord God is upon me because the Lord has anointed me. He has sent me to bring glad tidings to the lowly, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners. To comfort all who mourn. This message is directly for exhaled parts of us. So you who are exiled. You can hear that someone has been sent to comfort you. To let you know that you will be released. You will be free. That there is good news. This passage is directly for you. Directly about you. About Jesus coming to you. This is your opportunity to receive the support. For what you missed. For the missed love. The missed connections. For the sense of stuckness from freedom. Maybe you're caught between parts that are battling. To protect your vulnerability. Or maybe battling to. To strengthen you. Try and make you strong. And the best ways they know how. That that don't really feel good to you. Or maybe you're being hidden or shamed. And this is the good news for you that you don't need to stay stuck in this prison, that there is liberty available for you, there is freedom available, and that there is someone to be with you, to support you, to love you and your hurt and your pain.

Speaker 1: That Jesus was anointed and humans are anointed to bring this good news. So in any ways that you feel ashamed or unwanted, unlovable, Jesus is here to take you out of that, to lift that burden, to take you out of that place of poverty, and to enrich you with the truth of his love and the freedom that he can bring. If you are deep in grief, that just seems to be getting heavier and heavier. You can hear that Jesus is coming, that the Lord is here. So even though you have been exiled, perhaps in the world around you or even inside. Maybe tears are not welcome or hurting is not welcome. This message is really specifically for you to comfort your broken heart. To integrate you. To help you let go of whatever it is that is keeping you held down. You are the lowly. You are the broken hearted, and you are the captives and the prisoners in the morning. And this message of hope is for you. An oil of gladness in place of mourning and a glorious mantle instead of a listless, listless spirit.
