209 The Stone Which the Builders Rejected Has Become the Cornerstone

The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone by the Lord. Has this been done and is wonderful in our eyes. Welcome back to Scripture for your inner outcasts. Today is Holy Saturday, April 4th, 2026. I'll be providing the reflection for today's episode. My name is Elizabeth and I'm the producer and host of Scripture for Your Inner Outcast. I want to wish all of our listeners a Happy Easter. And today, I'd like to reflect on the final responsorial Psalm from the Easter Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday. It comes from Psalm 118. The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone by the Lord. Has this been done? It is wonderful in our eyes. In these verses, if you are familiar with the psychological modality of internal family systems, which is what this podcast and what our parent organization, Souls and hearts is all about. You will likely immediately make the connection, as I did, that the stone the builders rejected, of course, referring to Jesus. But within our own internal systems that refers to our exiled parts. The stone the builders rejected, our exiled parts are literally exiled from our conscious awareness. These are parts of our being, parts of ourselves, parts of our essence that are cast out of our conscious awareness by our manager and firefighter parts because of the burdens they carry. Our exiled parts are, in a very real sense, the stone that the builders rejected, builders in this metaphor being our protector parts. In yesterday's episode, Pam Malinowski reflected on how our exiled parts are Christ like figures in the sense that on Good Friday, Jesus suffered by taking on the burdens of all of humanity, and likewise, our exiles suffer by taking on the most extreme burdens of our internal systems.
And today, I want to make another parallel between our exiled parts and Jesus by saying that just like Jesus, our exiled parts are in. Our outcasts have been rejected, but they can become, and in many ways are the cornerstone of us, of each of you, of who you are. And thus, if you exiled parts are listening right now, if your managers allow you to listen to this podcast and to receive this information. Just know that you are in fact the cornerstone. Without you, there'd be no cornerstone, no foundation for who you are. You are the most vulnerable, most precious, most little parts of your system. And during this Easter Triduum, as we reflect in a special way on Jesus suffering, death and resurrection. We can also think about your own. You exiled parts, your own suffering, death as in your casting out and your own resurrection as in your integration back into your internal family system. I hope you all have a wonderful Easter.
