229 Although You Might Feel Persecuted, That Is Not Your Identity

Speaker 1: He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? He said, who are you, sir? The reply came, I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.
Speaker 2: You are listening to Scripture for your inner outcasts. Today is April 24th, 2020 sixth Friday of the third week of Easter. Today we are joined by Monica, an adventurer in holiness with her resilient Catholics community and a beloved daughter of God.
Speaker 1: He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? He said, who are you, sir? The reply came, I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do. Today's first reading is from acts nine, when Jesus asked Saul, why are you persecuting me in verse four? Did it bring to mind you, dear and exiled parts? When I read Saul's question in verse five, who are you? My own little exiled part becomes curious and feels safe enough to step forward into the light, to be recognized and acknowledged as worthy of notice. Continuing on with verse five, I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. My little exile feels loved and rejoiced in. Take Jesus's answer as an invitation to try something new. Marvel that Jesus does not want you to be persecuted. Jesus continues in verse six. Now get up and go. You will be told what you must do. This to me is my regulated inner self guiding my manager parts who try to protect me from old past hurts by trying to hide them. There is a new way to live. You don't have to figure it out on your own. Jesus will walk with you one foot in front of the other. You will be told what you must do. The Holy Spirit will tell you what you must do to become whole and healed. Rejoice and be encouraged. You're not sentenced to a life of pain and dysfunction. You can heal and learn to appreciate yourself just as you are.
