Speaker 1: And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be where I am going. You know the way. Thomas said to him, master, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way? Jesus said to him, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.

Speaker 2: You are listening to Scripture for your inner outcasts. It's May 1st, 2026, Friday of the fourth week of Easter. Today's presenter is doctor Grant Sassi, the executive and counseling director of Catholic Social Services in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Speaker 1: I'm going to be using the gospel, John 14, three verses from that. And they are. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be where I am going. You know the way. Thomas said to him, master, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way? Jesus said to him, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me. This is a really important gospel for many of my parts. First as an exile that I call pain bearer. The pain of pain bearer goes deep. It reminds me of what I've heard as the God sized hole. And honestly, pain bearer just holds on to things that are his burden. But he has had multiple partial unburdening in some of my past sessions, and even And spontaneously during these. There have been moments of felt comfort in Jesus as the way, the truth, and the light. These felt moments have given this part an idea that hope is real. Even though pain bearer at times can feel despair. He has a consistent belief that Jesus can do anything, even completely and fully heal him at the core. This part desires a full and complete peace. He can mourn that this peace will only fully be realized with God in heaven, but also accepts that he can achieve at least a small portion of this peace while on earth. And like Thomas said, in this, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way? Even though it's probably unclear to him, Jesus says, just follow me. My parts need to follow Jesus. My parts need to see the world how he tells me to see them. And when they do, when they can give me some space, set down their agendas, they can feel that truth. They can know without a doubt that Jesus truly is the answer to all of their concerns.
