Speaker 1: Blessed day by day. Be the Lord who bears our burdens. God is our salvation. God is a saving God for us. The Lord, my Lord, controls the passageway of death.

Speaker 2: Welcome to Scripture for your inner outcasts. Today is May 19th, 2026, Tuesday of the seventh week of Easter. Today's guest is Lisa Barrett, a psychotherapist in private practice based in Sydney, Australia, and a member of Souls and Hearts Resilient Catholics community and the formation for Formators community.

Speaker 1: Psalm 68. Blessed day by day be the Lord who bears our burdens. God is our salvation. God is a saving God for us. The Lord, my Lord, controls the passageway of death. Do you feel like you need to be carried in someone's arms. That you are on the verge of death, or as good as so overburdened, weighed down that you can barely move. Maybe help feels impossible or distant. You have been left carrying the load of misconceptions, misunderstandings, others beliefs and opinions about you. Your beliefs about yourself and others. Shame of not being enough. Somehow, any or all of this may be immobilizing you, weighing you down to the point that you cannot continue and don't really see any options. Today, God tells you salvation is in reach. Your burdens are not too much for him to carry that is close to death. As you may feel, it's not on your terms and he rescues you from death, whether it be the death of your hope, of your trust and goodness. Your sense of value or worth or the. Or death by a thousand paper cuts of dismissals, criticisms, rejection, subtle distancing or disconnection that you feel the Lord is a saving Lord.

Speaker 1: A God who saves. You can praise him, for he can carry you through this hardship, bring you in to the life that you have been exiled from, because you have been left with the weight of what other parts of you or people around you cannot or will not hold. If you have been left with these burdens and at the same time exiled because of them, your salvation is here. God is speaking to you today in this passage. Blessed day by day be the Lord who bears our burdens. God is our salvation. God is a saving God for us. For you, the Lord, your Lord, controls the passageway of death. This means that you can let go of the weight of the world on your shoulders and allow him to take it. You are not meant to be crushed by it and unable to live to feel stuck. He wants to carry you, to help you be your burdens, to live out the days of your life. And not only this life, but beyond this life with him in eternity.

Speaker 2: Like today's guest, if you are a Catholic Formator, you are invited to check out the formation for Formators community@solzhenitsyn.com slash.

Speaker 1: Saint John the Baptist. Pray for us. Saint Joseph, pray for us. Mother Mary Untier of knots, pray for us.
